March 1st & 2nd, 1997: Rains that began just a few days prior led to a large amount of water with nowhere to go. Much of the state faced flooding issues, but Cynthiana got her fair share. Record setting flood-waters reached 28.53 feet, and covered much of Cynthiana’s southern and west-sides.
