May 1-4, 2010 Flooding
On April 29th, 2010, the National Weather Service began to issue watches and statements regarding a heavy rain event which would bring about flooding across much of the commonwealth.
Initial forecasts showed the Licking River rising to near 23ft in Cynthiana. With the river forecast at such a high level, city and county governments met to discuss what actions may be necessary to take. Fortunately, the river fell short of this mark and came to crest at 21.92ft late Tuesday May 4th.
